This position is located in our Guantanamo CUB facility



Network Engineer - Guantanamo Bay, CUBA - Active US Secret clearance is required

Chosen Candidate must have experience in IP networking, Utilizing Cisco routers and switches. Must have expertise in IP routing, to include knowledge of routing protocols and IP subnetting. Experience in Ericsson ATM networking technologies a plus. Understand and be able to configure switch ports, and VLANS for Cisco, and ELAN's, PVC's, SPVC's on Marconi. Must have worked with encryption devices. A working knowledge of TACLANE/FASTLANE is a must.

Candidate will be required to work as part of an installation team on occasion. Experience with installation standards and practices required.

Experience with MS Windows and MS Office products is required. Applicant must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Powerpoint and Visio software products.

Applicant should understand network security principals and be familiar with DoD network security policies; specifically DOD INST 8551.1, and DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs). Applicant should have experience managing network security using firewalls and Access Control Lists at the network enclave perimeter.

Job requires the ability to perform basic and advance levels of technical support for Tandberg VTC suite. Ability to resolve VTC technical issues quickly and efficiently. Should be knowledgeable on operation and maintenance of Tandberg 8000 VTC suite hardware.

Specifically responsible for the design and development of voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks.

1. Analyzes voice, video, radio-frequency, and/or data communications networks, including planning, designing, evaluating, selecting, and upgrading operating systems and protocol suites and configuring communication media with concentrators, bridges, and other devices.

2. Plans network layouts and configures systems to user environments.

3. Analyzes network topologies and traffic and capacity requirements.

4. Supports the acquisition of hardware and software as well as subcontractor services as needed.

5. May provide technical support and troubleshooting to users.

6. May perform network administration duties.

7. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.

8. Participates in special projects as required.


Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, technical certifications or training, or work experience.

Applicant MUST meet DOD 8570.01-M requirement by possessing A+, Security +, or Network+ industry recognized technical certifications.

Must hold an industry recognized Certification applicable to the Job Function (i.e. Network+, Security+, CCNA, Tandberg, Polycom etc...).


2-5 years of directly related experience in network analysis and design.



Secret clearance required.

Person hired for this position will support, manage, and maintain routers and switches in support of JTF-GTMO, while working closely with JTF-GTMO, USNB Guantanamo Bay N6, NCTAMSLANT Base Communications Office, and other organizations that have an impact on network operations. The Contractor shall ensure that network interoperability is implemented and maintained.

Employee shall integrate, install, configure, operate, and maintain network management
applications and their associated databases, as needed, to manage and maintain the enterprise at a 99% acceptable level of service.

Additionally person shall install, configure, monitor, and maintain network equipment to include
upgrading and troubleshooting, and maintain network management systems. Troubleshoot problems
with network nodes to include computers, servers, printers, telephones, digital senders, hubs,
switches and routers utilizing network analyzers and troubleshooting software.
