Description



Install, configure, and maintain Windows 2008 R2, Active Directory, GPO, MS IIS server, MS Exchange Server 2010, WSUS, vulnerability testing tools, VMware, SANS, and Windows 7 desktops.  Maintain compliance with DHS 4300A, NIST 800-53 and FISMA guidelines.  Develop and maintain Installation and Configuration procedures as well as Standard Operating Procedure Manuals.  Provide daily user support, troubleshooting, setup and configure MS Windows 7 Professional desktops, laptops, hardware and software troubleshooting, Norton Ghost, Symantec Endpoint Protection, backup and recovery. 
 
  • Performs installs, upgrades, maintenance, and/or troubleshooting of network software and/or hardware.
  • Supports complex data/media recoverability through system backups and database archive operations.
  • Plans, coordinates and directs appropriate level data refresh strategies.
  • Oversees, recommends and implements appropriate level database solutions and enhancements to ensure an improvement in system reliability and performance.
  • Oversees and applies appropriate support packages/patches to maintain system integrity.
  • Possess the skills to collect and review system data for capacity and planning purposes; analyzes capacity data and develop capacity plans for appropriate level enterprise-wide systems; coordinate with appropriate management personnel in implementing changes. - MUST HAVE
  • Possess the skills to perform moderately complex systems and database administration; monitor and tune appropriate systems to ensure optimum level of performance. - MUST HAVE
  • Possess the skills to support the design and configuration of complex system landscapes. - PREFERRED
  • Possess the skills to develop and maintain appropriate system documentation to ensure that documentation is current; oversee the maintenance of a library of system-supporting process and procedure documentation.  -  PREFERRED
  • Possess the ability to interact with client management and/or end-users to answer questions, problems and requests regarding complex system issues. - MUST HAVE
  • Possess the skills to provides leadership and work guidance to less experienced personnel. - PREFERRED 
  • Bachelor's degree (preferred in computer science, mathematics, or related field) or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 6 years experience in support of MS Windows Server 200x/2008 R2 and VMware
  • Strong knowledge of installation, configuration, and maintenance of Microsoft Windows 2008 R2, VMware, Active Directory, GPO, Microsoft ISS, Microsoft Exchange Server 2010, WSUS, SANS, Windows 7 desktops, MS Office, TCPIP, Symantec Endpoint Protection, Norton Ghost - MUST HAVE
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Knowledge of HP server hardware and sofware, Data Domain, bacukp and recovery using CA Brightstor, Citrix (XenDesktop, XenApps, XenMobile), LANDesk Service Desk, LANDesk Management Suite, WhatsUpGold Suite, disaster recovery planning and testing, Unix, Apache TomCat, WebFocus, Rational Tool Suite, Passme, Credant, Pinecone, vulnerability testing tools, Oracle, and Microsoft SQL are a plus. - PREFERRED
  • Leadership skills to guide and mentor the work of less experienced personnel
  • Experience working with products in both a mainframe and LAN based environment. - PREFERRED
  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong personal computer and business solutions software skills
  • Ability to work effectively independently or as part of a team.
  • Familiarity working in a structured change management environment. 
  • May require on-call, shift, weekend and evening work for system maintenance activities

 

Essential Job Functions

Qualifications




Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred
  • Six or more years of experience in a client-server environment
  • Experience working with appropriate complex systems administration, database administration, and landscape maintenance
  • Experience working with company products and services
  • Experience working with company and client documentation and storage procedures
  • Experience working with complex system implementations and organizational processes
