The Development Effort Consolidation Contract (DECC) of which CSC is the lead under the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) constructs CMSs forward looking health care quality systems environment.  This program is in it's 4th option period supporting various lines of businesses across the agency.
 
Work Location: Columbia, MD.  Must be willing to submit to standard background Investigation.
 
Essential Job Functions
 
Develop / modify, document and execute 508 compliance test scripts, test cases, and test scenarios based upon 508 standard and system requirements definition, in concert with the business and customer driven change requests.
 
  • Responsibilities include all aspects of software and document 508 compliant verification testing including (but not limited to): manual and automated validation of web pages, electronic documents generated using Adobe Systems and Microsoft Office products and validating using various assistive technology products.
  • Familiar with Section 508 policy and universal accessibility best practices.
  • Review functional and technical requirements to expose inconsistencies, lack of clarity, lack of details, and identify any contradictions as it relates to 508 compliance.
  • Maintain and oversee independent execution of 508 testing activities against test plans and test schedules
  • Conduct detailed analysis of 508 test results found through independent verification and validation testing
  • Work with development staff to bring defects to resolution
  • Work with Team Lead to develop test plans, test schedules, and present time estimation for testing activities to be performed.
  • Investigate and propose methods and standards for continuous process improvement.
  • Experience with independently operating screen reading and screen magnification software with alternate input devices and interpreting Assistive Technology validation results to developers, testers and managerial staff.
  • Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness; Looks for ways to improve and promote 508 compliance quality.
  • Competent to work independently on 508 testing activities. 
  • Work independently, monitors own work to ensure quality, but as a cooperative member of the QA team.
  • Good grasp of Microsoft Office Products and a solid technical background that includes a general familiarity with HTML logic.
 
 


Qualifications



Basic Qualifications  
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or engineering or related field preferred
  • Six or more years of testing experience
  • Experience working with computer systems and their uses
  • Experience working with telecommunications systems and their corresponding principles
  • Experience working with network management and protocol system testing
  • Experience working with scripting languages such as TCL, PERL, HP, etc
  • Experience working with data transmission protocols such as TCP/IP, etc.
  • Experience working with operating systems

Other Qualifications
  • Five years related test 508 experience.
  • Hands-on experience with JAWS, AccVerify or other 508 Compliance Tools essential
  • Hands-on experience with HP Quality Center a plus
  •  Aggressive attention to detail.
  • Excellent customer services skills.
  • Ability to think, organize, plan and analyze logically. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to clearly and thoroughly write technical and logical 508 compliance test cases
  • Ability to clearly and thoroughly document 508 compliancy defects that can be understood by software developers.
  • Ability to be flexible to changing demands and priorities
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Skilled in time, priority and task management
  • Interpersonal skills to interact with customers and team members
  • Presentation skills to present test results to individuals and groups
  • Communication skills
  • Active in pursuing learning opportunities
