This position is located in our CO, Westminster facility



Performs all procedures necessary to ensure the safety of information systems assets and to protect systems from intentional or inadvertent access or destruction.

Must have Retina experience in installing, configuring and running scans.

1. Performs periodic and on-demand system audits and vulnerability assessments, including user accounts, application access, file system and external Web integrity scans to determine compliance.
2. Primarily responsible for providing support for enterprise vulnerability scanning, penetration testing, and compliance devices (Retina, Nexpose, Webinspect, Metasploit, Nessus, and dbprotect). Services and performs scanning for vulnerabilities and compliance to hardening guidelines.
3. Maintaining compliance policy within Active Directory and ensures all other non-Microsoft technology meets security hardening guidelines
4. Performs security risk assessment as an internal auditor for security issues and responsible for the Data Center's continuous monitoring program. Establish a Risk rating for each Tenant.
5. Performs Computer Security Incident Response activities for HCSD Data Center, coordinates with other GDIT SOC and tenant's POC to record and report incidents.
6. Monitor and analyze monitors resources such Alien Vault; Symantec; data feeds of alerts and logs from firewalls, routers, and other network devices or hosts; and data feeds and/or alerts from CISCO IPS, and other host and network-based IDS/IPS to watch for security violations and determine vulnerabilities
7. Recognizes potential, successful, and unsuccessful intrusion attempts and compromises thorough reviews and analyses of relevant event detail and summary information
8. Communicates alerts to Tenant POC regarding intrusions and compromises to their systems, applications and operating systems.
9. Assists with implementation of counter-measures or mitigating controls.
10. Ensures the integrity and protection of networks, systems, and applications by technical enforcement of organizational security policies, through monitoring of vulnerability scanning devices.
11. Prepares incident reports of analysis methodology and results.
12. Provides secondary support for enterprise Alien Vault implementation, tuning, and management expertise. Manages and monitors resources such as Symantec, Tripwire and Application Control from Lumension.
13. Maintains current knowledge of relevant technology as assigned.
14. Participates in On-Boarding new Tenants as required.


Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training or work experience.

5-8 years of related experience in vulnerability accessments,and compliance devices and Web integrity scans.

Must have Retina experience in installing, configuring and running scans.

And any of the following: Nexpose, webinspect, metasploit, nessus, and dbprotect.

3.Excellent communication skills to effectively annotate findings in both written and oral form
4.Good skills in implementing and configuring correlation engines and security components
5.Ability to work with Ticket systems
6.Ability to work independently and as part of a team
7.Experience with Retina, Nexpose, webinspect, metasploit, nessus, and dbprotect
8. Ability to write signatures/rules.
9. Must have Retina experience in installing, configuring and running scans
