Description



Essential Job Functions
  • Designs, plans and oversees the installation and maintenance of electric or electronic equipment, components and circuits for new and existing products.
  • Defines requirements and creates schematics for hardware system architecture. Evaluates performance, integrates hardware units and interconnection of units.
  • Selects appropriate components based upon reliability, performance and availability.
  • Conducts validation, verification and qualification testing. Conducts error testing of systems and circuit designs. Provides product support as appropriate by isolating faults and resolving design issues.
  • Ensures electrical designs comply with product specifications. Verifies designs are implemented with accurate consideration for power management, systems interfaces, etc.
  • Ensures designs incorporate approval agencies and electrical safety standards. Participates in reviews with various governing agencies for code compliance.
  • Reviews vendor capability to support product development and recommends product specifications and component selection. Monitors the activities of subcontracted technical services. 
  •  Prepare documents in support of electrical designs and implementation
  • Develope power schematics for Army classroom system architectures as well as schematics for emerging technologies


Qualifications




Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or related field preferred
  • Three or more years of experience in electrical engineering or computer science
  • Experience working with electrical theories, design principles and practices and design evaluation techniques
  • Experience working with personal computers and software such as MathCAD, Excel, etc.
  • Experience working with testing equipment
  • Experience in developing and designing audiovisual and networking to support installation of Army classrooms
  • Experience in developing hardware and software interfaces to support Army classroom infrastructures
  • Experience in developing power schematics for Army classroom system architectures as well as schematics for emerging technologies
  • Experience in Quality Assurance compliance reviewing approved classroom and electrical designs and schematics
  • Experience must be demonstrated in the area of digital technology
  • Experience with conducting and preparing written evaluations of technical classroom architectures, servers, software and IT infrastructure 
  • Experience in performing technical edits of electrical designs and vendor proposals as well as providing technical representation, briefs and presentations at designated ‘In Process Reviews, Program management Reviews, engineering design charettes and other forums focused at classroom technology capability integration
  • Knowledge of the Army Training infrastructure

  • Good interpersonal skills for interaction with customers and other engineers
  • Good analytical and problem solving skills
  • Ability to listen and comprehend the needs of the customer with relation to the project
  • Ability and desire to research new technology and methodologies in the electrical engineering
  • Former Army military experience
