John Wagner has covered Maryland government and politics for The Post since July 2004. His coverage during that span includes the administrations of Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) and former governor Robert L. Ehrlich Jr. (R) — and both the 2006 and 2010 elections that pitted the two rivals against one another. Wagner’s more recent legislative coverage include Maryland’s debate over same-sex marriage.
Wagner came to The Post from The (Raleigh, NC) News & Observer, where he served as the paper’s Washington correspondent, covering the 2004 presidential bid of then-Sen. John Edwards (D-N.C.) and the final years in office of former Sen. Jesse Helms (R-N.C.).
