Jura Koncius came to the Washington Post in 1976 to be assistant to the Fashion Editor and has worked here ever since. Home fashion has been her specialty since 1982. Her design and decorating coverage has included homes of hundreds of Washingtonians from sleek studios in Penn Quarter to country castles in Warrenton. She’s visited the homes of Martha Stewart, browsed the Milan Furniture Fair and reported on White House interiors from Clinton to Obama. She co-founded the Washington Post Super Sale held from 1991 to 1996, which raised $5 million for the Nina Hyde Center at the Lombardi Cancer Center at Georgetown. She currently has an obsession with organizing and decluttering and is often found chatting or tweeting about this. Koncius is married and has a college-age son. They live in a 1937 brick colonial in Chevy Chase, D.C. with their cat Gus who destroys furniture.
