You’ve got one more day to enter The Food section’s 2011 Top Tomato recipe contest.
Recipes must be original (honor system), must come from home cooks (chefs, put down your knives) and must have no more than 10 ingredients (including salt and pepper). You may enter as many as five recipes.
(Wendy Galietta/WASHINGTON POST)
We’ve seen lots of soups and fresh pasta sauces, so if you plan to send a recipe for either, make sure it’s something special.
We like a good (short) back story, too.
The winners will be featured in our special tomato issue on Aug. 17; prizes will be revealed soon.
Send recipes to: Recipe Contest, The Food Section, 1150 15th St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20071; or by e-mail, with “RECIPE CONTEST” in the subject field, to food@washpost.com. Deadline for entries is midnight Thursday; we encourage you to enter early. Include your name, address and daytime phone number. If you have questions, send them via e-mail and we’ll answer ASAP. Readers do not have to live in the Washington area.
Tips from the judges: Please list the ingredients in the order they are used in the recipe directions. If you sent in recipes for previous years’ contests, please do not enter the same ones.
