Gardening tip: Dealing with aphids

Aphids are soft-bodied insects that feed in large numbers on the lush spring growth of such plants as roses, honeysuckle, spirea, fruit trees and leafy greens. Dislodge and kill them with water from a garden hose. Songbirds and beneficial insects feed on aphids, so avoid pesticides.
