Bao Bao, the National Zoo’s giant panda cub, made her debut to the general public January 18. She seemed to pay little attention to the crowd on the other side of the glass and wanted to get back to sleep. Mom Mei Xiang munched on bamboo during part of the morning. Bao Bao and her mom will have access to the outdoors in the coming weeks, so the public can watch for a favorite panda cub activity: climbing trees.
