The Washington Post’s KidsPost received dozens of creative homemade Halloween costumes for our 2013 contest. They were scary, funny, adorable and a few were so clever that we had to look twice to figure them out. So if you haven’t decided on this year’s costume, take a look at some of our favorites. Wii remote Samson Davis, 11 Buy Photo
Inspiration: "As I was thinking of ideas, I looked around and jokingly said a Wii remote after seeing it in my house. Then I thought about it some more and decided that should be my costume.
Supplies: Plastic foam, paint, mesh, a printout for buttons, duct tape.
Time it took: About 10 hours.
