The National Zoo's two three-month-old cheetah cubs, one male and one female are on display daily at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. The cubs will be outside in their area for about an hour.

The National Zoo's two three-month-old cheetah cubs have fun playing outside at the Cheetah Conservation Area. The cubs first got to explore their outdoor space on July 28.

Cheetah cubs play at the National Zoo's Cheetah Conservation Station. Cheetahs are the world's fastest land animal and can run up to 70 miles per hour for a short time -- that's faster than many cars!

Guess what? Since the Olympics are going on and the cheetahs are such fast runners, zookeepers decided to name the cubs after the fastest American woman and fastest American man in the 100-meter dash at the Olympics. The female cub will get her name on August 4 when the the final race is run and the male cub will get his name on August 5.

The National Zoo's cubs can be seen every day at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. Zookeepers warn, though, that the cubs get to decide if they want to play outside, so you might have to be patient to see them.

The cheetah cubs appear to be playing a spirited game of tag in their enclosure at the National Zoo. The cubs will be outside most days for about an hour at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.., zoo officials said.

After all that running and playing, this cheetah cub sure looks like he needs a nap. Afterall, he (or is it she?) is only three months old!
