Winter weather art needed

Lori Ohannessian, 9, Burke

The trees are barren, the temperatures are falling and the official start of winter is just a week away. All of which has us thinking that we need our readers to create terrific winter weather art.

Monday through Thursday, KidsPost features the weather forecast and an illustration by a local child. When we asked for autumn weather art, we got tons of great drawings of falling leaves, pumpkins and turkeys. But with winter around the corner, we need pictures that reflect the cold winds and yes, snow, of winter. Your drawing can include fun activities such as skating, snowball fights and snowman-making.

The drawing runs fairly small, so simple designs with bright colors work best.

Send drawings to KidsPost, The Washington Post, 1150 15th St. NW, Washington, D.C. 20071.

A parent, guardian or teacher can also e-mail them to us at (please put “weather art” in the subject line). Please include your full name, age, home town and a phone number.
