“Summer on the Moon” by Adrian Fogelin is another book about a less-than-perfect summer. Socko and his best buddy, Damien, are out of school for the summer and getting ready to enjoy endless days of skateboarding and hanging out in their neighborhood. But since their neighborhood isn’t the best, Socko’s mom wants to move. When she finds a new house on the other side of town, Socko worries that he’ll never see his best friend again. While it has good female characters, “Summer on the Moon” is a perfect summer read for boys age 10 and older.
