The Salon Dore is the Corcoran’s 18th-century French period room. Originally part of a private residence in Paris, the room’s gilded wall paneling and ceiling mural were brought to the Corcoran Gallery in 1926 at the bequest of William A. Clark, an industrialist and former senator from Montana.
