Thurmont's Cozy Country Inn, opened in 1929 and still owned by the Freeze family, has hosted presidents (Franklin D. Roosevelt), visiting dignitaries (Winston Churchill), the Secret Service and journalists covering the goings-on at Camp David, a short drive into nearby Catoctin Mountain Park. The inn also houses a Camp David museum.
