Couples at play in Signature Theatre’s ‘Company’

“Company” is a show about couples, and it just so happens that Signature Theatre’s production is all coupled up: Three happily hitched duos are featured in the Sondheim classic. In the musical, a series of vignettes revolve around single-guy Robert’s 35th birthday; his married friends and a few of his girlfriends, none of whom know each other, turn out for the celebration. Clearly the only thing to do when such a casting situation arises is round up these husbands and wives for a theater-themed edition of “The Newlywed Game.” Will this wreak havoc on their happiness, as in the grand tradition of the retro, sometimes-divorce-causing television program? Only one way to find out! First, let’s meet our contestants:
