Oct. 14: “The Guthrie Theater Presents H.M.S. Pinafore

“H.M.S. Pinafore” is the Minneapolis theater’s production of a Gilbert and Sullivan classic. Directed by the Guthrie Artistic Director Joe Dowling; hosted by Rainn Wilson.

Oct. 21: “American Masters: Pearl Jam Twenty

American Masters marks the Seattle band’s 20th anniversary. Directed by Cameron Crowe; hosted by director Taylor Hackford.

Oct. 28: “Great Performances: Miami City Ballet Dances Balanchine and Tharp

Miami City Ballet showcases three works by George Balanchine and Twyla Tharp. Hosted by Andy Garcia.

Nov. 4: Give Me the Banjo”

From the Blue Ridge Mountains, this episode explores the roots of American banjo music. Narrated by Steve Martin; directed by Marc Fields. Rosanne Cash hosts.

Nov. 11: “American Masters: Bill T. Jones: A Good Man”

“American Masters” follows the director and choreographer in Chicago as he creates the dance-theater piece “Fondly Do We Hope . . . Fervently Do We Pray.” The host had not been announced.

Nov. 18: Women Who Rock

PBS Arts celebrates female musicians who marked the male-dominated world of rock-and-roll. Produced by Susan Wittenberg and Carol Stein in conjunction with Cleveland’s Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Host not announced.

Nov. 25: “Great Performances: Il Postino From LA Opera

L.A. Opera features Plácido Domingo in a work by composer Daniel Catán. Hosted by Linda Ronstadt.

Dec, 2: “Great Performances: Andrea Bocelli in Central Park”

PBS Arts presents tenor Andrea Bocelli performing in Central Park with the New York Philharmonic. Conducted by music director Alan Gilbert; hosted by Paula Zahn.

Dec. 16: “Great Performances: The Little Mermaid from San Francisco Ballet”
