Names and Faces: ‘Kick’ Kennedy; Daniel Radcliffe; Train

A Kennedy hits the small screen

Kathleen “Kick” Kennedy, daughter of Robert F. Kennedy Jr., has been cast for a role in HBO’s “More as This Story Develops,” the New York Post reports.

The TV pilot, centered on the world of cable news, will be directed by Aaron Sorkin of “The Social Network” fame and feature stars Dev Patel of “Slumdog Millionaire,” Jeff Daniels, Emily Mortimer and Olivia Munn.

Kennedy, a recent Stanford grad, has a seasoned mentor on her side to guide her path through the Hollywood world. Her dad’s new girlfriend, “Curb Your Enthusiasm” star Cheryl Hines, was seen around Los Angeles introducing her to agents and producers.

Kathleen’s great-grandfather, Joseph P. Kennedy, was one of the founders of RKO Pictures, one of the Big Five studios back in the Golden Age.

Radcliffe’s inner demons

In an interview with United Kingdom’s GQ, Harry Potter and Broadway star Daniel Radcliffe confesses that he no longer drinks after battling issues with alcohol.

The actor, 22, made the lifestyle change almost two years ago after realizing he might have had a problem.

“I became so reliant on alcohol to enjoy stuff,” he told the men’s magazine.

“As much as I would love to be a person that goes to parties and has a couple of drinks and has a nice time, that doesn’t work for me.”

This news come from the star with an otherwise squeaky-clean image as he continues with his transition from franchise child actor to serious artist, saying goodbye to the Harry Potter series on July 15.

Drops of wine for Train

The Grammy Award-winning band Train has announced it is venturing into the wine world with the release of “Drops of Jupiter,” its 2009 red Petite Sirah, the New York Daily News reports.

The wine, available on July 18 for $9.99 a bottle, will benefit the nonprofit Family House, which provides temporary housing for the families of children being treated at Benioff Children’s Hospital in San Francisco.

Other rockers that have dabbled into the wine world? The Rolling Stones and Kiss have their own brands.
