GETTING THERE
Details on Va., Md. state park beaches
First Landing State Park is about 200 miles southeast of Washington. Take Interstate 95 south to I-295 south and then I-64 east to exit 282. Head north on U.S. 13/Northampton Boulevard, then take the U.S. 60 east/Shore Drive exit. The state park entrance will be on the left.
To reach Kiptopeke State Park from First Landing, retrace your steps by going west on U.S. 60/Shore Drive. Merge onto U.S. 13 north and head across the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. On the Eastern Shore, turn left on Arlington Road and then left on Kiptopeke Drive.
To continue to Assateague State Park, head north on U.S. 13. Near Pocomoke City, Md., take U.S. 113 north. At Berlin, turn right on Assateague Road and follow Maryland Route 611/Stephen Decatur Highway to the park.
