Sign Language: Funny signs from the road

Dick and Barbara Shively of La Plata, Md., found this sign while looking for a parking spot near their rental flat in Edinburgh, Scotland, in September. “The sign was at the entrance to a parking lot with a school nearby,” they say. “We were both amused and charmed by the language on the sign — never heard ‘uplifting’ used in that way before!”
