● El Secreto, a new boutique resort on Belize’s Ambergris Caye, is offering introductory deals. Rates at the 13-villa oceanfront property start at $200 a night plus $38 taxes, a savings of $250, for stays from the Oct. 1 opening date through Nov. 16. The resort is also offering a four-night grand-opening package of $1,670 for two adults, which includes lodging in a tropical villa, transfers, breakfasts and dinners, one spa treatment per person, excursion to the Hol Chan Marine Reserve and taxes; priced separately, the package would cost $2,226. ●Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg has discounted its rates on select dates this summer. Rooms start at $129 per night (plus $33 taxes and fees) Sunday through Thursday through Aug. 30. Sea
●Adventure Life has discounted an expedition to Greenland and Norway’s Spitsbergen by 37 percent. The 12-night voyage, with departures Aug. 12 and Aug. 27, now starts at $5,040 per person double, a savings of $2,960. Also, each person receives a free pair of Swarovski Optik CL Companion 8-x-30 binoculars, which retail for about $1,000. The cruise, which departs from Akureyri in northern Iceland and ends in Longyearbyen, Norway, travels along Greenland’s fjords in search of polar bears, musk oxen, arctic hares and migrating seabirds. The sailing aboard the 112-passenger Sea Spirit also features Zodiac boat landings at several locations, including the Maane Glacier and Ittoqqortoormiit, a settlement in eastern Greenland. ● Victoria Cruises has discounted its 2013 sailings on China’s Yangtze River by 30 percent. Prices vary by itinerary and season. For example, the Three Gorges Highlights cruise, three nights from Chongqing to Yichang or the four-night reverse itinerary, now starts at $616 per person during high season, a savings of $264. The 30 percent discount also applies to shore excursions; for example, a three-excursion package on the Three Gorges Highlights Cruise now starts at $63 per person, a savings of $27. Air
● JetBlue has introductory sale fares on its new nonstop service from Reagan National to San Juan, scheduled to begin Aug. 23. Round-trip fare is $257, including $47 taxes, and applies to travel through Oct. 25, excluding Fridays and Sundays. Book at www.jetblue.com by Aug. 10. A 21-day advance purchase is required. Other airlines are matching.
●AirTran is holding a systemwide sale. Fares from BWI Marshall range from $72 to $263 each way. From Reagan National, fares are $97 to $365 each way. For example, round-trip fare from BWI to Dayton, Ohio, is $144 round trip; other airlines are charging $200. Domestic sale applies Aug. 21 through Dec. 13, while international sale fares are good Aug. 21 through Nov. 11. For domestic flights, sale does not extend to Sunday travel, and holiday blackout dates apply. Buy by July 30 at www.airtran.com, or pay $15 more by calling 800-247-8726.
Package
● China Spree is offering its Tale of China’s Two Great Cities tour starting at $1,299 per person double. The package includes round-trip airfare between Washington and Beijing; round-trip air from Beijing to Shanghai; three nights’ lodging in Beijing and four nights in Shanghai; 10 meals; several sightseeing excursions with entrance fees; transfers; tour guides; and taxes. Priced separately, airfare alone would cost about $1,550 per person.
