Parking

Hourly: Terminal A, B and C garages, $2 per half-hour for the first two hours, then $4 an hour up to $36 per 24 hours. The garages are connected to the terminals by pedestrian bridges and a tunnel; free shuttle to terminals also available, leaving every eight to 10 minutes, from 4 a.m. to 11 p.m.

Getting there

By Metro/bus: Blue and Yellow line trains run to the concourse (Level 2) between terminals B and C. Monday-Thursday, 5 a.m.-12:26 a.m.; Friday, 5 a.m.-3:26 a.m.; Saturday, 7 a.m.-3:26 a.m.; Sunday, 7 a.m.-12:26 a.m. On weekend mornings, buses 13F and 13G run between downtown Washington and the airport. By taxi: Fares are about $11 from downtown, Capitol Hill and Georgetown; $60 from Dulles; about $27 from Bethesda; and about $23 from the West Falls Church Metro station.

Getting there

By bus: Metrobus 5A to Dulles originates at the L’Enfant Plaza Metro station and stops at the Rosslyn Metro, the Tysons-Westpark Transit Station and the Herndon-Monroe Park and Ride Lot. Buses depart L’Enfant Plaza every 25-60 minutes from 4:50 a.m. to 10:38 p.m. weekdays and nearly hourly from 5:30 a.m. to 10:35 p.m. weekends. Buses depart Dulles about every 30-60 minutes from 5:50 a.m. to 11:40 p.m. weekdays and about hourly from 6:32 a.m. to 11:40 p.m. weekends. In Loudoun County, Virginia Regional Transit’s Dulles 2 Dulles Connector runs between the airport and Dulles Town Center, with five stops in between. Buses depart Dulles Town Center every 45 minutes to an hour from 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. weekdays and hourly from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekends. Buses depart Dulles every 45 minutes to an hour from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. weekdays and hourly from 11:45 a.m. to 5:45 p.m. weekends. A one-way trip takes 25-30 minutes and costs 50 cents. By Metro/bus: The Washington Flyer express bus travels from the West Falls Church Metro station to Dulles every 30 minutes starting at 6:15 a.m. weekdays and 8:15 a.m. weekends and holidays until 10:45 p.m. Buses depart from Dulles every 30 minutes starting at 5:45 a.m. weekdays and 7:45 a.m. weekends and holidays until 10:15 p.m. The trip is about 25 minutes and costs $10 one way, $18 round trip. Parking

Express parking: At Terminal Road and Scott Drive, directly across from the daily garage. $4 for first hour or fraction, $2 each additional hour or fraction, up to $10 a day. Offers luggage assistance and immediate shuttle service that picks up passengers at their parking spaces. On return, the shuttle delivers passengers directly to their cars.

Long-term: On Aviation Boulevard north of the airport. Daily maximum of $8. Shuttle buses to the terminal run every 10-15 minutes, 24 hours a day.

Getting there

By train: Amtrak and MARC trains travel from Union Station and New Carrollton to the BWI Rail Station, where a free shuttle connects you to the airport.

Amtrak: From Union Station, trains run from 3:15 a.m. weekdays and weekends until 10 p.m. daily. Departures from New Carrollton begin at 4:10 a.m. weekdays and 5:37 a.m. weekends and after that are about 12 minutes later than Union Station departures. Return service from BWI starts at 6:10 a.m. and ends at 12:40 a.m. weekdays; starts at 6:23 a.m. and ends at 1:52 a.m. weekends. (Not all trains stop at New Carollton.) MARC: Trains depart Monday-Friday nearly hourly or more frequently; no weekend service and limited holiday service. Service from Union Station is from 5:50 a.m. to 10:30 p.m.; from New Carrollton, 6:12 a.m. to 10:41 p.m.; from BWI, 6 a.m. to 10:41 p.m. Return service from BWI starts at 4:53 a.m. and ends at 9:21 p.m. The trip takes 35 to 40 minutes. By Metro/bus: The BWI Express bus (B30) runs nonstop to and from the Green Line’s Greenbelt Metro station. Buses stop at two locations on the airport arrivals (lower) level. Buses depart from Greenbelt about every 40 minutes from 6:10 a.m. weekdays and 8:45 a.m. weekends until 10 p.m. daily. ICC bus 201 operates between the Gaithersburg park-and-ride lot and the airport, with stops at the Shady Grove Metro station, Norbeck park and ride and Burtonsville park and ride.
