On Love: Allison Frumin weds Benjamin Reschovsky

By — Janet Bennett Kelly,

Alison Frumin & Benjamin Reschovsky

Allison Frumin, 25, is a lawyer. Benjamin Reschovsky, 26, is pursuing a PhD in physics at the University of Maryland. They live in Logan Circle.

Wedding date: Sept. 3

Location: Woodend Sanctuary, Chevy Chase

Guests: 185

How they met: Frumin and Reschovsky met as Colgate University freshmen in November 2003, when they carpooled home to Maryland for Thanksgiving. They bonded during the drive. Back at school, Reschovsky started stopping by her favorite study area in the student center. On their first date a few months later, they went night skiing on a nearby slope.

The proposal: For the sixth anniversary of their first kiss, Reschovsky surprised Frumin with a three-course meal of her favorite dishes. After dinner, he got down on one knee and placed a cake box in front of her; inside was a strawberry-flavored cake with chocolate icing, topped with chocolate-covered strawberries and the words “Will you marry me?”

The wedding: The couple asked a friend to officiate at the ceremony. Frumin’s 101-year- old grandfather, a World War II veteran, walked her down the aisle. The caterer prepared dishes special to the couple, including a pear salad inspired by the one Reschovsky made the night he proposed.

The honeymoon: Immediately after the wedding, they took a four-day “mini-moon” to Iceland, where they enjoyed thermal baths and saw the Northern Lights. They will go to Tanzania and Zanzibar in January, when Reschovsky can take a longer break from his studies.
