How they met : Last August, Anderson sat beside Krumsiek at a Catholic University graduate-student orientation. They shared two classes and began exploring the city together in their free time. He had two tickets to an Esperanza Spalding concert and invited Krumsiek to go. “It just sort of morphed into an official date,” she says.
The proposal : In November, Anderson was helping out as Krumsiek worked a table selling honey for Bees ’n Blossoms at the Bethesda Central Farm Market. As they were dismantling the stand, he said, “I can’t wait anymore,” and got down on one knee to propose.
The wedding : They held the ceremony at the university chapel, where they had regularly attended Mass during their courtship, and arranged the reception in the adjacent Caldwell Hall. Guests received jars of honey as favors. The bride’s maid of honor traveled from Singapore to attend.
The honeymoon : They spent a week enjoying the sun and sand at a friend’s house at Delaware’s Bethany Beach.
