Wyngate Manor Ct., 8500 block, 5 p.m. Dec. 8. A man who had left a cellphone on a bus alerted police that a person was demanding a payment for its return, and an exchange as arranged. Three Fort Belvoir men, 30, 30 and 45, were charged with extortion and grand larceny. The 45-year-old man also was charged with possession of narcotics and unauthorized distribution of a controlled drug.

13th St., 6400 block, 1:10 p.m. Dec. 9. A vacant residence was entered through an unlocked door. Two juveniles were seen leaving the premises. Nothing was reported missing.
