LA PLATA AREA
Crain Hwy., 6800 block, 9 a.m. Dec. 27. Copper piping was stolen from a sheriff’s office laboratory.
Race Car Pl., 5900 block, 8 a.m. Dec. 27. Radiators were stolen from 30 vehicles parked inside a gated area at an auto-parts business. A welder, a power washer and tools were stolen from a workshop area at the business.
Hawthorne Rd., Dec. 26. A fire was set in a residence. A Nanjemoy man, 43, who had been involved in an altercation on the premises, was arrested. Charges included first-degree arson and threat of arson.
Manning Ct., 3200 block, 9:46 p.m. Dec. 27. A woman threatened a man at knifepoint, then struck him several times. A Waldorf woman, 20, was charged with first-degree assault. The victim, an acquaintance, did not suffer serious injuries.
Sheffield Ct., 4700 block, 4:10 p.m. Dec. 21. Three men went to a residence to buy a pair of sneakers in a transaction that had been arranged over the Internet, then robbed a man of shoes and cash at gunpoint. A short time later, after a traffic stop, two arrests were made. The motorist, an 18-year-old La Plata man, was charged with being an accessory to robbery and traffic violations. A La Plata man, 20, was charged with armed robbery. An investigation is ongoing.
Ashford Cir., 10000 block, noon to 3 p.m. Dec. 13. Property was stolen from a residence. At 3:16 p.m., in response to a report of a man acting suspiciously in front of a nearby store, police detained a man whose backpack contained property stolen from the residence. A Waldorf man, 20, was arrested. He also was served with four open warrants for burglary.
Business Park Dr., 11750 block, 7:45 p.m. Dec. 17. A man robbed a wireless equipment store at gunpoint. A Waldorf man, 26, was charged with armed robbery.
Kipling Dr., 11600 block, 1:15 p.m. Dec. 27. Copper wire and other wiring were stolen from a residence entered by force. A 21-year-old man of no fixed address and a 25-year-old man of no fixed address were arrested at the scene, at which walls and an air conditioner had been damaged to gain access to the wires.
Kings Wharf Pl., unit block, Dec. 21 to Dec. 22. Lug nuts were stolen from a vehicle during an attempt to steal the wheels and tires.
Mount Pleasant Rd., 3700 block, 6 to 9 a.m. Dec. 20. Video game systems and cash were stolen from a residence.
Williamsburg Dr., 10 p.m. Dec. 26 to 5 a.m. Dec. 27. Cash, headphones, a flashlight and a camera were stolen from two unlocked vehicles in the Pinefield neighborhood.
MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS
Acton Lane, 12:32 a.m. Dec. 25. A Mercedes-Benz that had been reported stolen in Prince George’s County was recovered. A Prince George’s man, 22, and a Montgomery County man, 20, were charged with theft of a motor vehicle and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle.
St. Mary’s County

Castaway Cir., Dec. 25. During an argument in a home, a man choked and punched an acquaintance. A Hermanville man, 21, was charged with second-degree assault.
Broad Creek Dr., Dec. 21. A man who had been placed in charge of two young children at a residence was not on the premises when police arrived in response to a report that an unlit stove had been left on all night, filling the residence with propane gas. A Hollywood man, 36, was charged with two counts of child abuse and two counts of child neglect.
LEXINGTON PARK AREA
Great Mills Rd., Dec. 24. Responding to a report of a fight at a liquor store, police arrested a 45-year-old Lexington Park man. Charges included second-degree assault and disorderly conduct.
Mechanicsville, Dec. 22. During an argument at a residence, a woman struck an acquaintance in the face and neck. A Mechanicsville woman, 38, was charged with second-degree assault. During her arrest, an acquaintance, a 44-year-old Mechanicsville man, was charged with obstructing and hindering an arrest.
