Chain Bridge Rd. and Glengyle Dr., 7 p.m. Dec. 28. The body of Zavier Stringfellow, 19, of Manassas was found in a minivan that had crashed into a barrier at the end of a service road. He had been stabbed in the upper body. A 22-year-old Gainesville man was charged with murder.

ABDUCTIONS

Autumn Vale Ct., 13700 block, 7:57 p.m. Jan. 1. During an argument in his home, a man restrained a female acquaintance and robbed her of a cellphone. A 23-year-old Chantilly man was arrested on charges that included abduction, robbery and simple assault.

Tower Dr., 6500 block, 11:44 p.m. Dec. 31. Responding to a report of shots fired at an apartment complex, police arrested a 21-year-old Alexandria man and charged him with reckless discharge of a firearm.

Lamarre Dr., 4100 block, 2:02 a.m. Dec. 29. During an argument with an acquaintance, a man was stabbed. A 27-year-old man of no fixed address was charged with malicious wounding. The victim was treated for at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

University Dr.,3900 block, 3:05 a.m. Dec. 31. A man attacked a woman in a parking garage. A 26-year-old Fairfax man was charged with assault and battery, abduction and public drunkenness.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Berritt St., 4100 block, 7:36 p.m. Dec. 13 to Dec. 24. Property was stolen from a residence. A 50-year-old Alexandria woman who had lived at the home was charged with petty larceny.

Chain Bridge Rd., 3500 block, 5:10 p.m. Dec. 28. Nine company checks were stolen from an office. An unsuccessful attempt was made to cash one of the checks.

Evergreen Dr., 4100 block, Dec. 22. Credit-card information was used to make unauthorized transactions in Thailand.

Fairfax Blvd., 10800 block, 8:30 a.m. to 7:50 p.m. Dec. 31. Prescription medication was stolen from a motel room.

Joyce Dr., 10700 block, 4 p.m. Dec. 27 to 1:20 p.m. Dec. 28. A change purse and a pair of eyeglasses were stolen from a vehicle. The ignition was damaged during the incident.

Lee Hwy., 11000 block, 2:25 p.m. Dec. 28. A person’s identity was fraudulently used to open a cellphone account. Charges since July had gone unpaid.
