“Breakaway” collar is recommended: S. 26th St., 900 block, March 28. An animal control officer helped a cat’s owner who could not remove a collar that had looped around the neck and chest of her pet.
Quest for a home is draining: N. Fillmore St., 2300 block, March 28. Animal control picked up a parakeet from a woman who had confined the stray bird under a colander. It was held as a stray and was to be made available for adoption.
