SEXUAL ASSAULTS

Washington Blvd. N., 2500 block, 4:31 p.m. Jan. 18. A man riding on a bus threatened a woman verbally, then groped her. When she screamed, the driver pulled over and called police. A man, 28, of no fixed address was charged with sexual assault and battery.

ROBBERIES

Wilson Blvd. N., 2700 block, 10:26 a.m. Jan. 17. A male punched a man removing a bicycle from the rack in the front of a bus in which he had been riding, then rode away on the bike.

Second St. N., 4200 block, 12:08 a.m. Jan. 20. Two men demanded cash from a male sitting in an outdoor area at an apartment complex, then robbed him of a backpack at knifepoint.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Cathedral Lane S., 3900 block, 7:30 to 10:30 a.m. Jan. 20. Property was stolen from a vehicle. A nearby vehicle also was broken into, but nothing was reported missing.

Frederick St. N., 900 block, 11:15 to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 17. Three males were seen entering a back entrance to a residence. The intruders fled empty-handed when seen in a porch area.

Glebe Rd. N., 300 block, 6:45 to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 20. Property was stolen from an apartment.

Kensington St. N., 1200 block, 10:30 a.m. Jan. 20 to 9:09 a.m. Jan. 21. An unsuccessful attempt was made to steal coins from vending machines in a laundry room entered by forcing a door.

Fifth St. N., 4000 block, 9:45 a.m. to 5:01 p.m. Jan. 19. Cash was among property stolen from a residence entered by cutting a window screen.

10th St. N., 5000 block, 9:30 a.m. to 3:10 p.m. Jan. 17. Cash and electronics were stolen from a residence entered by forcing a basement door.

16th St. N., 5100 block, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 21. Property was stolen from a residence.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Columbia Pike S., 2200 block, Jan. 21. A silver 2009 Toyota Scion was stolen.

Nash St. S., 1200 block, Jan. 20. A white 2008 Ford Econoline was stolen.

VANDALISM

14th St. N., 3900 block, noon to 1:53 p.m. Jan. 19. Seven vehicle owners reported damage to car bodies, windows and outside mirrors.
