BROOKLYN PARK AREA

ROBBERIES

Ritchie Hwy., 4000 block, 3 a.m. July 6. Two male teenagers asked a male pedestrian for cash. When the pedestrian refused, one punched him in the face and the other cut his face with a knife. They fled with cash. The pedestrian was treated at a hospital.

CROFTON AREA

ROBBERIES

Davidsonville Rd., 2000 block, 8 a.m. July 8. A man approached another man who had just left a business and asked for money. The second man took out his wallet, then was assaulted and robbed of it. A Gambrills man, 20, was arrested and charged with robbery, assault and related violations.

GLEN BURNIE AREA

ROBBERIES

Ritchie Hwy., 6600 block, 11:06 a.m. July 8. A male teenager forcibly took a woman’s purse near a grocery store and fled through an apartment complex. The purse was recovered without its contents. A similar incident was reported at 11:46 a.m. when a male took a purse from a female shopper’s cart in the parking lot of the store. He ran north on Ritchie Highway. A man was located in a wooded area off Shelly Road. Property was recovered. A Severn man, 18, was arrested and charged with robbery, assault, illegal drug possession and two counts of theft.

Virginia Ave., 1-99 block, 8:48 p.m. July 10. After a man walked past a group, he was hit on the head with a baseball bat and robbed of cellphones and a wallet. He was taken to a hospital. A Glen Burnie man, 35, was arrested and charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, robbery, armed robbery and two counts of theft.

SEVERNA PARK AREA

ASSAULTS

Bayberry Dr., 500 block, 3:24 p.m July 6. A homeowner called police about a male relative who was in her home without permission. Police arrived, and the male refused to come out. He reportedly struck one officer with an object and sprayed another with a chemical. A stun device was used against him. A Towson man, 26, was arrested and charged with burglary, two counts of assaulting police and resisting arrest. He was also charged in connection with a previous warrant.

ROBBERIES

Americana Dr., 700 block, 12:50 a.m. July 11. A gunman and another man approached two women in an apartment building parking lot. They took purses and fled in a vehicle driven by another person.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Cedar Park Rd., 1200 block, 10:30 p.m. July 5 to 8:30 a.m. July 6. A GPS device and a purse were stolen from two unlocked vehicles. The purse was recovered nearby.

Gemini Dr., 1200 block, 9 p.m. July 6 to 2:40 p.m. July 7. Cash and sunglasses were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Green St., 100 block, 4 a.m. July 11. A witness shouted at a person attempting to break into a vehicle, and the thief fled. A lock was damaged.

Greenbriar Lane, 600 block, 4 p.m. July 9 to 11 a.m. July 10. An unlocked vehicle was ransacked. Nothing was reported taken.

Lockwood Ct., 200 block, 9:30 p.m. July 9 to 11 a.m. July 10. A mountain bike was stolen. A cable lock was cut to remove it from a residence’s downspout.

Royal St., 500 block, 7 p.m. July 4 to 9 a.m. July 5. A GPS device and a case for a detachable car radio were stolen from two unlocked vehicles. The radio case was recovered nearby.

Tiburon Ct., 1-99 block, 10 p.m. July 4 to 8 a.m. July 5. A GPS device was stolen from an unlocked vehicle. Two other vehicles were ransacked.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Chesapeake Ave., 200 block, 11 p.m. July 1 to 7 a.m. July 2. A green motorcycle was stolen from a driveway.

Main St., 100 block, 1:15 a.m. July 9. A blue 2006 Hyundai Sonata was stolen. Police stopped someone driving it at Drew Street and Dominoe Road in connection with traffic violations before the vehicle had been reported stolen. Two occupants ran from the vehicle. An Annapolis man, 18, was arrested and charged with theft, motor vehicle theft and unlawful removal of property.

Royal St., 500 block, 9:30 p.m. July 4 to 7 a.m. July 5. A white Ford F-150 pickup was stolen. The Ford was found in the 1-99 block of Dorset Court. It had been abandoned by a driver after the driver had been involved in a hit-and-run accident at Spa Road at Old Forest Drive.

West St., 1500 block, 7 p.m. July 5 to 7 a.m. July 6. An orange 2008 Dodge Caliber was stolen. It was found unoccupied at 10 a.m. July 6 in the 500 block of Royal Street.

West St., 1500 block, 8:30 p.m. July 8 to 8:15 a.m. July 9. A maroon Mazda MX-5 was stolen. The vehicle was recovered unoccupied in the 500 block of Royal Street soon after it had been reported stolen.

Forest Shade Trail, 6600 block, 9:09 a.m. July 6. A silver 1997 Honda Civic was stolen.

Hitching Post Lane, 9100 block, 6:49 a.m. July 7. A motorcycle was stolen.

COLUMBIA AREA

ROBBERIES

Cloudleap Ct., 8700 block, 11:45 p.m. July 10. Three males on bikes and four on foot demanded cash and a cellphone from a male pedestrian. The pedestrian gave them cash after one showed a knife.

Old Dobbin Lane, 6100 block, 11:38 p.m. July 6. A group of seven to nine males surrounded two pedestrians in a parking lot. One punched one of the pedestrians, and both pedestrians ran. The group chased them to a ball field, where the other pedestrian fell and was punched. A wallet was taken.

Old Dobbin Lane, 6100 block, 11 p.m. July 7. A male was pulled off his mountain bike. He was assaulted and robbed of the bike, a wallet and a cellphone by a group of eight to 10 males.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Airybrink Lane, 8700 block, 3:20 p.m. July 4. A man entered a home and took cash from a wallet. He fled when a resident woke up and saw him.

Airybrink Lane, 8700 block, 1:09 a.m. July 6. A resident awoke because of a noise and shouted, then heard an intruder leave the home. A TV was taken. There was no sign of forced entry.

Airybrink Lane, 8700 block, 1:02 a.m. July 9. A rear sliding door was opened at a home, triggering an alarm and waking a resident. A security guard saw someone running from the back of the residence toward Snowden River Parkway.

Airybrink Lane, 8700 block, 2:15 to 6:30 p.m. July 10. A laptop computer, a cellphone, a video game system and alcohol were stolen from a home entered by breaking a handle off a rear sliding door.

April Journey, 5500 block, 11 p.m. July 4 to 10:40 a.m. July 5. A garage remote control device was stolen from a vehicle and used to open a garage door. A cigarette was left on the ground outside.

Benjamin Franklin Dr., 6800 block, July 5 to July 8. Copper was stolen from a building under construction. There was no sign of forced entry.

Cobblefield Dr., 8600 block, 11:45 a.m. July 7 to 4:25 a.m. July 8. A resident awoke in his apartment and discovered that his rear sliding door was open and his front door was unlocked. A bag from the apartment was found later in a stairwell of another apartment building.

Cobblefield Dr., 8600 block, 7:30 p.m. July 7 to 6 a.m. July 8. A male in a residence noticed that his sliding door had been opened. There was no sign of forced entry, and nothing was reported stolen.

Flowerstock Row, 8800 block, 10:50 p.m. July 3. A resident arrived home and saw a male trying to open his balcony screen door. A female was seen jumping off the balcony. The case was under investigation.

Freetown Rd., 6400 block, 4:42 a.m. July 10. Cigarettes were stolen from a gas station. A window was broken.

Little Patuxent Pkwy., 10600 block, 9:30 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. June 28. Four checks were stolen from an office used for storage in a business.

Little Patuxent Pkwy., 10600 block, 8:30 p.m. July 28. An office suite was entered by prying open a suite door. Doors were pried at three other suites in the building.

Oakland Mills Rd., 6900 block, 6 p.m. July 2 to 9:50 a.m. July 3. Money was stolen from a cash register at a shop entered through an unlocked door.

Quiet Hours, 6700 block, 4:09 p.m. July 9. Two children broke into an acquaintance’s back yard. The resident saw one standing near bikes and another standing near a gate. Two juveniles were arrested.

Tamebird Ct., 8800 block, 10:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. July 8. Cash, a laptop computer and a digital camera were stolen from a home. There was no sign of forced entry.

West Running Brook Rd., 5200 block, 4 p.m. July 3 to 7:45 a.m. July 5. An elementary school window was broken with a rock. Nothing was reported taken.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Black Star Cir., 8500 block, 11:46 a.m. July 7. An attempt was made to steal a blue Nissan Altima.

Early Spring Way, 9700 block, 8:07 a.m. July 5. A Hyundai Santa Fe was stolen.

Fruitgift Pl., 6500 block, 8 p.m. July 1 to 6:07 a.m. July 3. A red 2006 Toyota Corolla was stolen.

Oak Bush Terr., 8400 block, 10:23 p.m. July 6. A silver 2003 Buick LeSabre was stolen.

ELKRIDGE AREA

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Coriander Pl., 7700 block, July 3 to July 5. Copper was stolen from six houses under construction. An Elkridge man, 49, was arrested. He was charged in connection with three of the cases.

Hearthside Way, 7500 block, 4 a.m. July 11. A leasing office was entered by using two rocks to shatter a front door. Nothing was reported stolen.

Montgomery Rd., 7200 block, 11:45 a.m. to 5:10 p.m. July 5. Jewelry and handbags were stolen from an apartment entered by breaking glass in a rear sliding door.

South Hanover Rd., 6200 block, 11:17 p.m. July 7. A tow yard was entered by cutting a piece of metal securing a gap between the front gate and fence. Five batteries were stolen from three vehicles. Two additional trucks were tampered with.

Troy Hill Dr., 7000 block, 5 p.m. July 7 to 9:20 a.m. July 8. An auto auction lot was entered by cutting a fence. A vehicle might have been stolen.

ELLICOTT CITY AREA

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Columbia Rd., 4600 block, 9 p.m. July 7 to 8:30 a.m. July 8. A pool area was entered by climbing a fence. Pool furniture was thrown into the pool. A table and two umbrellas were damaged.

Resort Rd., 11000 block, 8:36 p.m. July 6. A security guard noticed the front door of a business had been forced open.

Town and Country Blvd., 8700 block, 7:30 to 9:30 p.m. July 8. A video game system, a TV, a digital media player, headphones, a laptop computer and a pillowcase were stolen from a home.

Mayfair Cir., 7700 block, 9:30 a.m. July 6. A white Acura TL was stolen.

Pine Orchard Lane, 3100 block, 3 p.m. July 9. A 2006 Honda Odyssey was stolen.

Hunters Way, 10500 block, 6:45 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 3. Cash, jewelry and a camera were stolen from a home entered by prying open a rear basement door.

Livery Lane, 9200 block, 11:45 p.m. July 3 to 8:20 a.m. July 4. A mountain bike was stolen from a storage closet.

Livery Lane, 9200 block, 2 to 9:45 a.m. July 4. A bike was stolen from a shed.

Steeple Ct., 9300 block, 8 a.m. July 5. A garage door opener was stolen from a vehicle parked in front of a home. The garage door was partially opened. Nothing was reported stolen.

Whiskey Bottom Rd., 9300 block, 10 a.m. July 1 to 3 p.m. July 2. Cash was stolen from an unlocked file cabinet in a hair salon entered through a locked side door. There was no sign of forced entry.

Cool Creek, 8200 block, 2:24 a.m. July 3. A 2010 Toyota Corolla was stolen.

Donnan Castle Ct., 9500 block, July 3 to July 4. A 2010 Honda Accord was stolen.
