Arlington to host first annual pre-K Registration Night
Arlington County public schools will host its first annual pre-kindergarten Registration Night, for parents to learn about the county’s preschool programs, at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Kenmore Middle School, 200 S. Carlin Springs Rd.
Parents can also complete and turn in applications for eligible preschools there.

Alexandria Historical Society seeks nominations for award
The Alexandria Historical Society and the Office of Historic Alexandria are seeking nominations for the T. Michael Miller Alexandria History Award.
The award is given to one or more community members who have made contributions to the study of local history. The award committee gives particular consideration to individuals who have written research papers, books or other publications offering insight into the history of Alexandria.

Plan to upgrade playground at Chestnut Hills Park approved
The Arlington County Board approved a $489,682 contract to revamp the Chestnut Hills Park playground.
The renovations include clearing and restoring the site and adding new equipment. The 4.2-acre park is at the corner of N. Harrison Street and N. 27th Street. The renovation is part of the county’s Parks Maintenance Capital project.
