At Assateague, a struggle to keep wild horses wild

Park officials say that humans are endangering the wild nature of the iconic feral horses that roam the coastline at Assateague Island National Seashore on the Virginia-Maryland border.

It is against regulations to touch, feed or attract the animals while visiting Assateague Island National Seashore, Md. But visitors can stop on the side of the road to photograph the animals, like the ones pictured here on July 7, 2011.
