One shot fired on a Southeast Washington street Saturday night struck a man in the leg. Another went through the door of a house and hit a 4-year-old boy in the hand, D.C. police said.

Each victim was taken to a hospital after the gunfire, which occurred about 8 p.m. in the 1200 block of Savannah Place SE, just south of the St. Elizabeths Hospital campus. It appeared that neither suffered a life-threatening wound, police said. No motive was known.
