ANNAPOLIS AREA

ROBBERIES

Riva Rd., 2400 block, 6:51 p.m. Aug. 10. A man who implied that he had a weapon demanded cash from an employee behind a desk at a motel. When the employee walked away toward an office, the man fled empty-handed.

GLEN BURNIE AREA

ROBBERIES

Fifth Ave., before 11:48 a.m. Aug. 11. A man tried to take a purse from a pedestrian, then stabbed a man walking with her when he intervened. After the assailant fled empty-handed, the victim was treated at a hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

HARWOOD AREA

HIT-AND-RUN INCIDENTS

Solomons Island Rd. near Harwood Rd., 2:30 a.m. Aug. 12. A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle, which sped away from the scene. Kendrick Lamont Richardson, 37, of no fixed address, was pronounced dead from injuries sustained in the accident. At 7:24 a.m., a 20-year-old Edgewater man surrendered to police. The vehicle determined to have been involved in the incident was seized.

PASADENA AREA

HOMICIDES

Harlem Ave., 400 block, 9:30 a.m. Aug. 12. The body of Darius Keenan, 50, was found inside his home with a gunshot wound. A family member in possession of the victim’s vehicle was arrested in North Carolina later that day on traffic violations. Anne Arundel County was seeking extradition of the family member in connection with Keenan’s death.

WEST RIVER AREA

ASSAULTS

Friendship Lane, 1000 block, 6:12 p.m. Aug. 13. During an argument in front of a house, a man shot a male acquaintance with a shotgun, then fled in a maroon sport-utility vehicle. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening. An investigation was continuing.

KIDNAPPINGS

Bay Ridge Ave., 900 block, 6:05 p.m. Aug. 15. A gunman grabbed a woman walking with her child and ordered her to come with him. When she shouted for help, the assailant fled. An Annapolis man, 30, was arrested on charges that included attempted kidnapping, attempted armed robbery and second-degree assault.

ASSAULTS

Bens Dr., unit block, 1:15 a.m. Aug. 11. A woman stabbed a woman several times. The victim was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries that were not considered life-threatening. A Glen Burnie woman, 25, was arrested. Charges included first-degree assault.

Newtowne Dr., 700 block, 3:05 p.m. Aug. 10. Three people were stabbed during an altercation inside an apartment. An Annapolis man, 25, was charged with one count of attempted second-degree murder and three counts of first-degree assault. No serious injuries were reported.
