ANNAPOLIS AREA
ASSAULTS/THEFTS

Annapolis Mall, 5:49 p.m. Dec. 31. A group of disorderly people was asked to leave by mall security personnel. They assaulted security guards. One assailant displayed a knife, then was disarmed. A Beltsville man, 19, a Lanham man, 19, and a Bowie man, 18, were charged with two counts of second-degree assault. In addition, the Beltsville man was charged with possession of marijuana, and the Bowie man was charged with theft.

ROBBERIES

Admiral Dr., 600 block, 11:28 p.m. Dec. 22. A man with a knife robbed a convenience store of cash. He fled in a red mid-size car.

Riva Rd., 2600 block, 12:31 a.m. Dec. 23. A man showed a note announcing a robbery to a pharmacist at a drugstore. He fled with prescription medications in a car driven by another man. A vehicle was stopped, and evidence from the robbery was recovered. A Gambrills man, 21, and an Annapolis man, 20, were arrested and charged with robbery.

Towne Centre Blvd., 1900 block, 12:32 p.m. Dec. 23. Two males with their faces covered entered a wireless store and forced a clerk into a storage area. They took phones and fled in a white sedan.

Brooklyn area
ROBBERIES

Belle Grove Rd. and Pebble Dr., 8:43 p.m. Dec. 24. Four men approached a male pedestrian. One hit the pedestrian in the face, knocking him down. The four took cash from the pedestrian’s pockets and fled on foot.

Bell Grove Rd., 5900 block, 11:38 p.m. Dec. 30. Two females and three males walked up to a pizza delivery car. One of the females told the driver they were going to buy the pizza, then opened a door and tried to take pizza boxes. The driver was hit in the face by two people while blocking them from taking the pizzas. The five people fled on foot empty-handed. No injuries were reported.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Belle Grove Rd., 4700 block, Dec. 29. A tip led to the investigation of a tow-truck driver who was towing vehicles and storing them on a private lot on behalf of the police department. Items stolen from four towed vehicles were recovered. A Dundalk man, 36, was arrested and charged with theft. His company was removed from the police department’s tow rotation list.

Glen Burnie area
ROBBERIES

Cayer Dr., 1000 block, 12:42 a.m. Dec. 21. A loud banging was heard at an apartment building’s laundry room and rental office. A man was seen walking in and out of the building, at one point with a book bag. Laundry machine coin boxes had been tampered with. A person was arrested after resisting arrest. A Laurel man, 34, was charged with robbery after he was treated for injuries at a hospital.

Cloverleaf and Four Leaf Clover Dr., 6:10 a.m. Dec. 30. A man was hit on the head from behind while walking. Cash was taken. The man was taken to a hospital.

Glen Ridge Rd., 1-99 block, 5:05 p.m. Dec. 25. A man was robbed of cash by a male acquaintance, who implied he had a gun, and another male. A Baltimore man, 40, was arrested and charged with armed robbery and theft.

Jumpers Hole Rd., 8000 block, 2:48 p.m. Dec. 19. A man demanded a female pedestrian’s wallet. A struggle ensued, and the man stabbed the woman several times in the arm with a steak knife. The woman was treated at a hospital and released.

ANIMAL INCIDENTS

Lincoln Ave. SW, 400 block, 9:05 p.m. Dec. 29. Two unleashed pit bull dogs attacked a dog being walked by its female owner. The dog’s owner was bitten while trying to break up the fight. Someone called the pit bulls from a vehicle at the end of the street. The dogs entered the vehicle and were taken away. The woman was taken to a hospital.

Hanover area
ROBBERIES

Bluestone Ct., 1600 block, 12:18 a.m. Dec. 25. Two males robbed a man at gunpoint as he was getting out of a vehicle. They fled with cash in a black sedan.

CHILD-CARE INCIDENTS

Arundel Mills Cir., 7000 block, 6:31 p.m. Dec. 31. A 4-year-old child was observed crying and alone in a parked vehicle in a casino garage. An investigation revealed a woman had parked the car and gotten out at 10 a.m. and entered the casino. The child was taken to a hospital for examination and was found to be in good health. A Baltimore woman, 24, was arrested and charged with second-degree child abuse, confinement of an unattended child younger than 8 years old and neglect of a minor.

Laurel area
ROBBERIES

Lauren Dr., 100 block, 9:40 p.m. Dec. 21. A male wearing a mask robbed a woman of her purse in an apartment stairwell as she was walking up the stairs with her two children.

Old Line Ave. and Laurel Fort Meade Rd., 6:52 p.m. Dec. 19. A gunman robbed a woman on a street, taking her purse. He ran toward an apartment complex.

Linthicum Heights AREa
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Elkridge Landing Rd., 800 block, 4:22 a.m. Dec. 21. Police arrested a man at a motel after he had asked people to cash counterfeit checks in exchange for a percentage. The man gave a false name and Illinois license. Computers, document paper, false checks, printers, cartridges and torn checks were found in a motel room. It was determined that the man was on federal probation and was not allowed to leave Illinois. A Chicago man, 29, was arrested and charged with theft, forgery and false documents.

Millersville area
ROBBERIES

Old Mill Rd., 600 block, 11:40 p.m. Dec. 30. A man who implied he had a weapon tried to rob a grocery store of cash. He fled empty-handed.

Veterans Hwy., 8000 block, 10:06 a.m. Dec. 24. Two males grabbed a male pedestrian and punched him. They took his wallet and fled toward the Greentree Community. The pedestrian was taken to a hospital.

Odenton area
ROBBERIES

Annapolis Rd., 1100 block, 10:18 a.m. Dec. 30. Three gunmen robbed a bank and fled with cash in a green Mercury minivan. The minivan was located unoccupied in the 600 block of Carlton Otto Lane.

Annapolis Rd., 1600 block, 11 p.m. Dec. 30. A gunman robbed a man of cash outside a liquor store and fled on foot.

Pasadena area
ASSAULTS

Nicholson Dr., 1-99 block, 12:46 a.m. Jan. 1. A man tried to stab a female with a kitchen knife during a domestic incident. The female, who was cut on the hand, used the knife to stab the man in his hip. The female was treated at the scene. An Arnold man, 29, was taken to a hospital with injuries that were not considered life-threatening and arrested on charges of first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment and the use of a deadly weapon with intent to injure.

Severn area
ROBBERIES

Disney Rd., 1400 block, 9:45 a.m. Dec. 19. Two male teenagers, one with a gun, assaulted and robbed three boys sitting on a park bench. They took property and fled on foot. One of the boys was taken to a hospital. Two Severn males, both 15, were arrested and charged with armed robbery, first-degree assault and theft.

ASSAULTS

Forest Dr., 1300 block, 12:45 a.m. Dec. 26. Two men argued at a restaurant about music on a jukebox. Later, while both were walking with companions on the street, one man hugged the other and stabbed him in the stomach. A man accompanying the assailant attacked a friend of the man who had been stabbed, cutting his clothes and causing a small cut on his abdomen with a sharp object. The first man who was stabbed was taken to a hospital. The second reportedly refused medical treatment. An Annapolis man, 34, was arrested and charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, possession of a dangerous weapon with intent to injure and reckless endangerment. A second Annapolis man, 41, was arrested and charged with first- and second-degree assault and using a dangerous weapon with intent to injure.

Main St., 100 block, 11:50 p.m. Dec. 27. During a fight, a man stabbed another man in the chest with a box cutter. The injured man was taken to a hospital. An Annapolis man, 33, was arrested and charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, reckless endangerment, two counts of carrying a concealed weapon and two counts of carrying a weapon with intent to injure.

ROBBERIES

Brooke Ct., 800 block, 2:30 p.m. Dec. 31. A man carrying a box knocked on a door and tried to push his way inside when a female resident answered. He pulled a gun from his waistband while another man joined him. Another resident called the police, and the men fled. They did not enter the house.

Windell Ave., 200 block, 5:30 p.m. Dec. 21. Two men approached another man on a footpath. One of the two put his index finger to the pedestrian’s head and asked for money. The pedestrian threw down cash and was asked for more. The robber tried to punch the pedestrian, then walked away with his companion.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Americana Dr., 600 block, 2:30 to 2:55 p.m. Jan. 1. The front passenger window of a vehicle was broken. Nothing was reported stolen.

August Dr., 1100 block, 3:30 a.m. Dec. 23. Four people were seen looking into vehicles in a parking lot. One unlocked vehicle was entered.

Bay Forest Ct., 900 block, 2:35 p.m. Jan. 1. A man was seen breaking a vehicle’s front passenger window. Nothing was reported taken.

Beacon Ct., 1-99 block, 10 p.m. Dec. 21 to 2 a.m. Dec. 22. A Bluetooth device, a purse, a wallet, a GPS device, headphones, cash and a watch were stolen from two unlocked vehicles. Other unlocked vehicles were also entered.

Beech St., 1000 block, 8 p.m. Dec. 28 to 1:30 p.m. Dec. 29. Cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Bluffs Lane, 7000 block, 2 to 3 p.m. Jan. 1. A front passenger window of a vehicle was broken. Nothing was reported stolen.

Franklin St., 1-99 block, 1:15 a.m. Dec. 28. A front window of a home was broken, triggering an alarm. Police officers and firefighters found a male intruder asleep in a chair inside. A Crownsville man, 30, was arrested and charged with third- and fourth-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property and resisting arrest.

Glade Ct., 1800 block, 11:50 p.m. Dec. 21. Two men were seen entering an unlocked vehicle. They took cash and walked away.

Hunting Wood Rd., 1400 block, 8:15 a.m. Dec. 28 to 11 p.m. Dec. 29. Jewelry and a video game console were stolen from a home entered by forcing open a back door.

Hunting Wood Rd., 1400 block, 4 p.m. Dec. 22 to 11 a.m. Dec. 23. A cellphone, a Bluetooth speaker, headphones and a tablet computer were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Locust Ave., 1-99 block, 3 p.m. Dec. 25 to 2 p.m. Dec. 26. A wallet and a checkbook holder were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Melrose St., 600 block, 4 p.m. Dec. 25 to 9:30 a.m. Dec. 26. Cash, eight audio books, a jacket and one shoe were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Merryman Rd. near Heritage Ct., 12:30 p.m. Dec. 19. A man stole a gas-powered saw from the bed of a pickup truck. He fled in a Chrysler sedan.

Monroe St., 800 block, 2:30 to 2:50 p.m. Jan. 1. A sunglasses case and a container of whey protein were stolen from a vehicle entered by breaking a front passenger window.

Park Ave., 1000 block, 6 p.m. Dec. 19. A man entered a residential back yard and tried to enter the home through a back door. A resident saw him run toward President Street after he could not enter the home. An Annapolis man, 29, was arrested and charged with attempted first-degree burglary, resisting arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Spa Dr., 100 block, 6:45 to 7:15 p.m. Dec. 28. A resident discovered that one of his security cameras had been moved.

Summerfield Dr., 1-99 block, 12:30 to 3 p.m. Dec. 23. Three rifles, credit cards, jewelry and cash were stolen from a home entered by breaking a rear window.

Taylor Ave., 600 block, 3:45 to 4:20 p.m. Dec. 19. A video game system was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Tyler Ave., 1100 block, 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Dec. 19. Jewelry was stolen from a home entered through an unlocked rear window.

Tyler Ave., 700 block, 1:50 to 3:45 p.m. Jan. 1. Cash was stolen from a vehicle entered by breaking a driver’s side window.

Victor Pkwy., 100 block, 8 p.m. Dec. 26 to 11 a.m. Dec. 27. Cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Copeland St., 1900 block, 12:01 to 4:10 a.m. Dec. 22. A black 2006 Lincoln Continental Mark V pickup was stolen.

Tyler Ave., 1300 block, 7:30 p.m. Dec. 26 to 6 a.m. Dec. 27. A gold 1996 Honda Accord was stolen.

Dobbin Rd., 6100 block, 3:29 p.m. Dec. 22. A female took merchandise from a store and assaulted a loss-prevention officer. Another female acted as a lookout. The lookout was located. The other female fled in a black BMW.

Jason Lane, 10500 block, 3:29 p.m. Dec. 31. A resident let an acquaintance and another person into a home. The stranger assaulted the resident with a handgun. The resident escaped and called police.

Little Patuxent Pkwy., 10300 block, 6:22 p.m. Dec. 22. Two female suspected shoplifters in a clothing store assaulted an employee who had confronted them. The two females ran out of the mall.

Montpelier Rd., 7500 block, 2:46 a.m. Dec. 30. A masked male robbed a gas station of cash and fled on foot.

Oakland Mills Rd., 7100 block, 3:53 p.m. Dec. 24. A group of males assaulted a male and robbed him of his wallet and skateboard.

Catterskill Ct., 10500 block, August to Dec. 20. Dishes, silverware and jewelry were taken from a residence. There was no sign of forced entry.

Cloudy April Way, 6000 block, 6:20 p.m. Dec. 31. Jewelry was stolen from a home entered by breaking a side window with a rock.

Herbert Dr., 5100 block, 5:19 p.m. Dec. 20. Glass in a garage door was broken. Nothing was reported stolen.

High Wheels Ct., 5300 block, 5:12 p.m. Dec. 21. A vacant dwelling was entered.

Monarch Mills, 7500 block, Dec. 28 to Dec. 31. A video game system was stolen from an apartment entered by cutting a screen and forcing open a window.

Morning Time Lane, 6400 block, 9:06 p.m. Dec. 20. Cash, electronics and jewelry were stolen from a residence entered by breaking glass in a rear sliding door.

Morningbird Lane, 5900 block, 7:36 p.m. Dec. 20. A residential front door frame was cracked during an attempted break-in. Residents heard banging on a door.

Roberts Rd., 8400 block, 1:18 a.m. Dec. 25. Two males knocked down a male outside his home. They robbed him of a wallet and cellphone at gunpoint, then fled.

Tall Trees Ct., 8200 block, 12:01 a.m. Dec. 25 to 12:07 a.m. Dec. 27. An attempted break-in was reported at a residence.

Town and Country Blvd., 8700 block, 12:38 p.m. Dec. 19. A contractor found a man in a closet in an apartment. The man apologized and fled.

Town and Country Blvd., 9000 block, 11:45 p.m. Dec. 23 to 12:30 a.m. Dec. 24. Two cellphones were stolen from a home entered through an unlocked rear sliding door.

Milltowne Dr., 3000 block, 9:40 p.m. Dec. 28. A silver 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt was stolen.

Dorsey Run Rd., 7100 block, 12:02 a.m. Dec. 22. An attempted motor vehicle theft was reported.

Blues Alley, 9100 block, 11 a.m. to 4:46 p.m. Dec. 25. A handgun, electronics, shoes and bedding were stolen from an apartment entered by kicking a front door.

Cross St., 1-99 block, 6 p.m. Dec. 24 to 9 a.m. Dec. 30. Prescription medication was stolen from a home entered by prying open a front door.

Fens Hollow, 9400 block, Dec. 21. Electronics and photography equipment were stolen from a residence. There was no sign of forced entry. Someone might have used a key from an unauthorized lock box to enter.

Graeloch Rd., 10700 block, 10 p.m. Dec. 18 to 5:25 a.m. Dec. 19. Electronics and credit cards were stolen from a home entered through a rear sliding door with a broken lock.

Thamesmeade Rd., 9100 block, 2:50 to 4 p.m. Dec. 26. A home’s front door was found open. Nothing was reported taken.
