ROBBERIES

Ritchie Hwy., 5000 block, 6:31 p.m. Jan. 12. A gunman robbed a pedestrian of cash and other property, then fled on foot through an alley behind a store.

GAMBRILLS AREA
ROBBERIES

Brandermill Blvd., 2300 block, 11:58 a.m. Jan. 11. A man gave a note to a bank teller demanding cash. The employee complied, and the robber fled in a minivan southbound on Route 3.

GLEN BURNIE AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Nolpark Ct., 7900 block, 4:34 a.m. Jan. 12. A man was seen trying to break into a van. He fled in a silver Dodge Caravan. A traffic stop was conducted, and a witness identified the driver. Tools and other items in the vehicle were processed as evidence. A Pasadena man, 47, was arrested and charged with rogue and vagabond and malicious destruction of property.

HANOVER AREA
ASSAULTS

Gesna Dr., 1400 block, 10:19 p.m. Jan. 13. Two gunmen driving vehicles shot toward a resident standing in his driveway. Bullets struck the home and several vehicles. The drivers of two vehicles were located in the 7400 block of Windstream Circle. Two Gambrills men, 20 and 24, were arrested in a wooded area and charged with attempted first- and second-degree murder, first-degree assault, use of a handgun in the commission of a felony and other violations. Two weapons were recovered.

ROBBERIES

Arundel Mills Cir., 7000 block, 7:45 a.m. Jan. 12. A man sleeping in his vehicle in a casino parking garage awoke when he heard his vehicle being tampered with. He got out and discovered a flat tire. Two men, one with a knife, approached. The vehicle owner got back into his vehicle, and the man with the knife held the weapon to his throat through a window. The driver was cut on the hand during a struggle, and he surrendered his wallet to the robbers. Two suspects were arrested later in the day. A Glen Burnie man, 22, and a Laurel man, 21, were charged with armed robbery, robbery, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, destruction to property and theft.

Arundel Mills Cir., 7000 block, 3:34 p.m. Jan. 12. A woman shoplifted a pair of boots at a store inside a mall. A store manager confronted her outside the store, and the woman sprayed the manager with pepper, which also affected 25 to 30 other people. The woman was confronted again by a loss prevention officer outside the mall. She threatened the employee with a small knife and sprayed him with pepper during a struggle. The employee disarmed her and used the pepper spray against her. A Baltimore woman, 24, was arrested and charged with robbery, theft, reckless endangerment and numerous counts of second-degree assault. Several shoppers and employees were treated at the scene. One employee and the suspect were taken to a hospital for treatment of pepper spray exposure.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Arundel Mills Blvd., 7000 block, 7:05 p.m. Jan. 11. Four males took two diamond necklaces from a display case at a mall jewelry store and fled on foot toward woods.

LINTHICUM AREA
ROBBERIES

Aero Dr., 1500 block, 11:49 p.m. Jan. 9. A male wearing a police vest and holstered gun knocked on a hotel room door and demanded cash from a female occupant. The female said she didn’t have any money, and the male tried to drag her to the parking lot. The female escaped and informed hotel staff. The male fled in a four-door car. Police said the room occupant might have been targeted because she had advertised escort services online.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Cleveland Rd., 400 block, 3:31 p.m. Jan. 11. A man was seen taking metal items from a residential yard and placing them in a truck occupied by another man. The men told police they were scrap collectors who had permission to take the items. The owner was contacted and said he had not given them permission. Two Baltimore men, 51 and 47, were arrested and charged with theft.

ODENTON AREA
ROBBERIES

Annapolis Rd., 1500 block, 1:37 a.m. Jan. 14. Four males, one armed with a gun, entered a shed and assaulted a man who lives in the shed. They robbed him and another man of phones and cash. Police witnessed the robbery and attempted to stop it, but the attackers ignored commands. Police chased the group behind a supermarket in the 2200 block of Blue Water Boulevard and detained one suspect. A Severn man, 22, was arrested and charged with robbery and burglary. The shed resident was taken to a hospital for treatment of injuries. His acquaintance was treated for injuries at the scene.

PASADENA AREA
WEAPONS

213th St., 600 block, 5 p.m. Jan. 9. A rifle and a handgun were found along with 75 grams of heroin and cash during the execution of a search warrant at a home. A Pasadena man, 47, was arrested.

SEVERN AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Council Oak Dr., 300 block, 7:58 a.m. Jan. 12. An all-terrain vehicle was stolen from a yard overnight. It was located in the 400 block of Audrey Avenue in Brooklyn. A Baltimore man, 21, and a Glen Burnie man, 23, were arrested and charged with fourth-degree burglary and felony theft.

ASSAULTS

Newtowne Dr., 700 block, 7:47 p.m. Jan. 13. A pedestrian heard a gunshot and started to run. A second bullet hit him in the foot. He was taken to a hospital.

ROBBERIES

Forest Dr., 1200 block, 8:45 p.m. Jan. 9. A group of 10 people entered a store and started taking items. An employee confronted a member of the group, who was wearing a surgical mask and implied he had a weapon. The employee recognized the person by his voice. The group took candy, beef jerky, cigars and cigarillos. An Annapolis man, 18, was arrested at his residence, where he had several candy bars in the arm of his jacket. He was charged with armed robbery and theft.

Silopanna Rd. near Boxwood Rd., 3:30 p.m. Jan. 13. A boy pushed another boy to the ground, hit him in the nose and took his cellphone. A 14-year-old Annapolis boy was charged with robbery, second-degree assault and theft. He was released to a guardian. The phone was recovered.

West St., 1900 block, 9:35 p.m. Jan. 15. A man met with a female acquaintance and threatened her and her dogs, then pushed her and took her purse. Police located a suspect with the purse behind a nearby business. An Annapolis man, 54, was arrested and charged with robbery and theft.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Burnside St., 300 block, 6 p.m. Jan. 12 to 11 a.m. Jan. 13. Cash was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Canterfield Rd., 300 block, 4:35 to 6:30 p.m. Jan. 13. A cellphone was stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Hilltop Lane, 200 block, 5:15 to 6 p.m. Jan. 13. A wedding ring was stolen from a gym locker.

Russell St., 1-99 block, 6 p.m. Dec. 30 to 10 a.m. Jan. 2. Five 22-foot sections of downspout were removed from a building.

Simms Dr., 1-99 block, 5 p.m. Jan. 11 to noon Jan. 12. Tools were stolen from an unlocked vehicle. A screwdriver was found in the ignition.

Wardour Dr., 1-99 block, 6 p.m. Jan. 12 to 4 a.m. Jan. 13. An unlocked vehicle was entered.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Tallwood Rd., 1000 block, 12:45 a.m. Jan. 16. A white 2009 Jaguar XF four-door sedan was stolen. It was left unlocked with a key inside.

Cradlerock Way, 7200 block, 3:37 p.m. Jan. 15. A male teenager groped a female jogger on a footpath.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Airybrink Lane, 8700 block, 8:26 a.m. Jan. 12. A man entered an apartment and destroyed property. A Columbia man, 25, was arrested and charged with first-, third- and fourth-degree burglary and malicious destruction of property.

Brighton Ridge Way, 10200 block, 5:30 to 7:30 a.m. Jan. 9. A bicycle was stolen from a garage. There was no sign of forced entry.

Clarksville Pike, 10600 block, 1:30 p.m. Jan. 11. Bathroom plumbing was tampered with in several rooms at an inn. There was no sign of forced entry.

Clarksville Pike, 10600 block, 7:56 p.m. Jan. 13. Several rooms were entered at the inn listed above. There was no sign of forced entry.

Dovecote Way, 6600 block, 10:30 a.m. to 2:10 p.m. Jan. 14. A TV was stolen from a home entered through an unlocked door.

Little Patuxent Pkwy., 10500 block, 6:48 p.m. Jan. 10. Checks were stolen from a filing cabinet in an office entered by prying open a door.

Little Patuxent Pkwy., 12000 block, 10:06 p.m. Jan. 11. An intoxicated woman knocked on a neighbor’s door. A child answered, and the woman entered the house and behaved strangely. An adult resident called 911. A Columbia woman, 33, was charged with fourth-degree burglary, disorderly conduct and endangerment due to intoxication.

Swift Stream, 10300 block, 3:25 p.m. Jan. 9. Electronics and a butane torch were stolen from a storage unit. There was no sign of forced entry.

Thunder Hill Rd., 5300 block, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 9. Firearms were stolen from a home entered by forcing open a side door.

Whiteacre Rd., 9600 block, 5:30 p.m. Jan. 11 to 1:08 a.m. Jan. 12. A TV was stolen from a ground-floor apartment entered by smashing a window.

Tamar Dr., 8300 block, 6:39 a.m. Jan. 10. A 2005 Toyota Sonata was stolen.

Clements Lane, 6100 block, 9:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Jan. 15. Electronics and firearms were stolen from a residence entered by breaking a window.

Montgomery Rd., 7200 block, 5:10 a.m. Jan. 12. A man and a woman were seen running from the back of a business after an alarm was triggered. They sped away in an SUV. A District man, 20, and a Capital Heights woman, 36, were arrested and charged with second- and fourth-degree burglary, theft and destruction of property.

Montgomery Rd., 7100 block, 1 p.m. Jan. 5 to 6 p.m. Jan. 13. A lock was cut on a basement door at a church. Nothing was reported stolen.

Washington Blvd., 6500 block, Jan. 8 to Jan. 9. Tires were stolen from a garage.

N. Chatham Rd., 3300 block, 10:34 p.m. Jan. 9. A male with a knife took a female’s purse outside a residence. He fled on foot.

Lake Edge Dr., 8700 block, 10:10 p.m. Jan. 11. Three people entered an open garage. They fled with a pair of sunglasses when a resident confronted them. A Laurel man, 20, was arrested and charged with first-, third- and fourth-degree burglary and theft.

Toby Lane, 2600 block, 11 a.m. Jan. 6 to 11:30 a.m. Jan. 8. Aluminum and a cooktop were stolen from an unlocked garage at a construction site.

Washington Blvd., 9000 block, 4:44 a.m. Jan. 11. A deli’s front door was smashed. The business was not entered.

Washington Blvd., 9900 block, 5:19 a.m. Jan. 11. A front door was smashed at a restaurant, which was not entered.

Washington Blvd., 9700 block, 2 a.m. Jan. 14. A man was seen kicking and prying a hotel room door. An employee called police. A Beltsville man, 48, was arrested in connection with burglary.
