BROOKLYN PARK AREA
ASSAULTS

E. 11th Ave., 1-99 block, 1:31 p.m. March 21. Two men sitting on a park bench were shot several times. The men were taken to a hospital. Two suspects were arrested March 24. Two Baltimore men, 23 and 24, were charged with two counts each of attempted first- and second-degree murder, first- and second-degree assault, reckless endangerment, disorderly conduct, and several firearms and drug violations. One of the men who was shot, a 24-year-old Baltimore man, was charged with drug possession and drug distribution offenses.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Edgevale Rd. W., 200 block, 8:45 p.m. March 24. A witness reported two males entering a vacant residence through a back door. Two Baltimore males, 16 and 20, were arrested at the scene. They might have been trying to remove copper piping.

LAUREL AREA
ROBBERIES

Fort Meade Rd., 3300 block, 12:28 a.m. March 22. A masked gunman robbed a gas station of cash and fled on foot. On March 26, a suspect was identified after he was detained on suspicion of shoplifting in the 3300 block of Corridor Market Place. A detective recognized the shoes he was wearing. The Laurel man, 23, was first charged with shoplifting. A search of his residence yielded a pellet gun and clothing worn during the gas station robbery. The suspect was also charged with armed robbery.

HOMICIDES

Victor Pkwy., 200 block, March 21. A Glen Burnie man, 24, and an Annapolis man, 25, were arrested and charged in connection with the April 21 murder of John Ray, 32, of Hungtingtown, at the listed location.

ROBBERIES

Bay Ridge Rd., 900 block, 3:15 a.m. March 21. Two men entered a store. One jumped over a counter and displayed a gun. They fled with cash, cigarettes, cigars and an employee’s purse and cellphone.

Bowman and Admiral drives, 10:30 p.m. March 22. Three men got out of a vehicle and robbed two male teenagers of a cellphone, a digital media player and cash. The men fled in the vehicle.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Bens Dr., 1-99 block, 3:30 to 10:30 p.m. March 20. A home was entered through an unlocked ground-floor window. A locked bedroom door was forced open. Nothing was reported stolen.

City Gate Lane, 1-99 block, 9 p.m. March 25 to 8 a.m. March 26. Sunglasses were stolen from an unlocked vehicle.

Janwall St., 100 block, 12:30 a.m. March 22. A witness observed a man inside someone’s vehicle. An Annapolis man, 21, was arrested.

Silopanna Rd., 1-99 block, 1 p.m. March 21 to 12:01 a.m. March 22. Jewelry was stolen from a home entered through an unlocked ground-floor window.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Gorman St., 100 block, 8 p.m. March 17 to 1:20 p.m. March 18. An Audi station wagon was stolen from a parking garage. It was found March 24 parked and unoccupied on Chester Avenue near Fifth Street. It was found locked. The spare key was not recovered.

COLUMBIA AREA
ROBBERIES

Alderleaf Pl., 5800 block, 11:53 p.m. March 25. Two males pulled a male from his vehicle, where he was sitting with an acquaintance. They robbed him of a wallet and fled with the acquaintance.

Majors Lane and Footed Ridge, 3 p.m. March 20. Four people robbed a pedestrian of cash and a bicycle at gunpoint on a footpath.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Columbia Rd., 5500 block, March 21. A male entered a home through an unlocked sliding back door. A resident awoke and persuaded the intruder to leave.

Pound Apple Ct., 6400 block, 11:40 a.m. March 20. An occupant of a residence discovered an open basement window. Nothing was reported stolen, and there were no sign of forced entry.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Eliots Oak Dr., 5100 block, 9:30 p.m. March 22 to 7 a.m. March 23. A red 2012 Hyundai Sonata was stolen.

Rivendell Lane, 5200 block, 1:27 p.m. March 25. A black 2001 Acura CL was stolen.

ELKRIDGE AREA
ROBBERIES

Old Waterloo Rd., 6500 block, 7 p.m. March 22. A male entered a dry cleaning business through an unlocked rear door. After threatening an employee, he fled with cash.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Forrest Ave., 6300 block, 2 a.m. March 24. An occupant of a residence was awakened by a sound at a door, then discovered pry marks on the door. The home was not entered.

Hearthside Way, 7500 block, 5 to 6 p.m. March 22. Three males stole an unlocked bike from a bike rack.

Keeton Rd., 8000 block, 7:30 to 10:30 p.m. March 23. A computer and jewelry were stolen from a home entered through an unlocked window.

Water Oak Dr., 7000 block, 8:20 a.m. to 3:45 p.m. March 20. A computer and jewelry were stolen from a home entered through an unlocked rear sliding door.

ELLICOTT CITY AREA
ROBBERIES

National Pike, 9300 block, 10 a.m. March 24. A masked male entered a pharmacy and demanded prescription drugs. An employee refused, and the male fled empty-handed.

ASSAULTS

Frederick Rd., 9000 block, 2:05 a.m. March 23. A man kicked a door of a residence of an acquaintance and assaulted him. An Ellicott City man, 34, was arrested and charged with second-degree assault, third- and fourth-degree burglary, malicious destruction of property and disorderly conduct.

GLENWOOD AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Cattail Creek Dr., 3600 block, 4 p.m. March 22 to 6:30 a.m. March 23. Golf carts were stolen from an unlocked garage at a country club.

JESSUP AREA
THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Washington Blvd., 8600 block, 9:33 a.m. March 22. Electronics were stolen from a business entered by breaking a window.

MOTOR VEHICLE THEFTS

Washington Blvd., 8300 block, 5:50 a.m. March 25. A white 2000 Ford truck was stolen.

ROBBERIES

Maier Rd., 9100 block, 4:32 p.m. March 23. A male scratched an acquaintance with a sharp object and took cash.

THEFTS/BREAK-INS

Breamore Ct., 9300 block, 12:10 p.m. March 21. Two men tried to enter a home through a rear sliding door. They fled when a resident shouted. Two Baltimore men, 23 and 26, were arrested and charged with fourth-degree burglary.

Bryant Ave., 9100 block, 10:13 p.m. March 23. A home was entered by prying open a kitchen window. Nothing was reported stolen.

Covered Wagon Dr., 9700 block, 6:40 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. March 25. Jewelry and electronics were stolen from a home entered by prying and kicking a front door.

Mountain Laurel Way, 9700 block, 5 p.m. March 14. Two girls broke into an acquaintance’s home by prying open a window. They took a bottle of water and nail accessories.
