Associate dean at U-Va. pleads not guilty on child pornography charges

December 4, 2013

Michael G. Morris, an associate dean at the University of Virginia, pleaded not guilty Tuesday to federal charges of distributing child pornography.

According to federal court records, Morris is accused of sharing pornographic videos on an Internet network. Morris allegedly used the online name of “Funshooter2006.”

He appeared in U.S. District Court in Charlottesville to answer the charges.

Morris is a professor at the University of Virginia’s McIntire School of Commerce. U-Va. officials were not immediately available Wednesday for a comment.

In November, when Morris was charged, a school spokesman said he had been suspended and that the school was working with authorities, according to the Associated Press.
