A lengthy investigation into a 23-month-old child’s death in Manassas led to the arrest and charge of murder Tuesday of the infant’s babysitter.
Jessica Fraraccio, 21, of the 6100 block of River Forest Drive, was arrested and charged with murder and child abuse after the child died on Aug. 22 in the 9300 block of Birchwood Court, according to a Manassas police department news release. A 911 emergency call was placed, said police Sgt. Lowell Nevill, a department spokesman.
The nearly seven-month investigation was prolonged because of complex medical issues that arose in the investigation — not unusual in infant death investigations, Nevill said.
Nevill declined to release any further information. Fraraccio is being held without bond and a court date has not yet been scheduled.
