Boy falls 3 stories from apartment building

A young boy fell from a third floor apartment window Thursday night in the White Oak area and authorities took him to a hospital with serious injuries, Montgomery County fire officials said.

The boy, who is about 3 years old, fell from about 25 feet from a building in the 11500 block of Lockwood Drive about 7:30 p.m., said Pete Piringer, a fire department spokesman.

The child was taken to a hospital with serious injuries, but he was expected to survive the fall, Piringer said.
