A man was found dead Friday afternoon on the grounds of Lower Senate Park, between the Capitol and Union Station in Northeast Washington, according to law enforcement authorities.
The man was discovered about 12:15 p.m. near D Street and Delaware Avenue. Delaware Avenue Northeast between Massachusetts Avenue and C Street was closed until about 4:15 p.m.
Two officials with D.C. police, which is handling the case, described the scene as a death investigation.
