D.C. police seek man suspected of robbing, sexually assaulting woman

District police have released a video showing a man suspected of attacking a woman last week in Northwest Washington’s Friendship Heights neighborhood. Police said the man sexually assaulted the victim in an alley.

The video shows a man walking along a street with a hooded jacked over his head to protect from a driving rain. It is not clear whether the video was shot before or after the attack, which occurred Nov. 26 at about 11 p.m. in the 5100 block of Wisconsin Avenue NW.

D.C. police said a man approached the woman from behind, stuck an object in her back and forced her to give him money. Police said he then forced the woman into an alley off 44th Street and sexually assaulted her.

Police had few details of the man’s description but said he was about 5-feet-4-inches to 5-feet-7-inches tall and between 40 and 50 years old. He was wearing an olive green coat.
