District man dies after being shot multiple times early Saturday morning

A District man shot multiple times — with wounds to his chest, back, arms and legs — died early Saturday morning at a local hospital, D.C .Police said.

About 12:40 a.m., police received a report of gunshot sounds in the 3000 block of 30th Street SE, said Officer Araz Alali, a police spokesman. Officers found the victim, Devar Battle, 34, of Southeast Washington, outside. Battle was taken to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead, Alali said.
