A female jogger was attacked Monday morning on one of the most popular trails in the Washington region, the Loudoun County sheriff’s office said.
The attack occurred a few minutes after 7 a.m. on the W&OD trail in the Sterling area, according to the sheriff’s office. The jogger was knocked to the ground from behind near Oak Grove Road and assaulted, the sheriff’s office said.
The site is less than a mile or two from the border between Loudoun and Fairfax Counties.
The attacker was described as a Hispanic male, approximately
5-foot-6 with short black hair and a muscular build. He weighed about 200 pounds, wore dark clothing and fled on foot on the trail toward Fairfax County, authorities said
