A 48-year-old Great Falls woman was charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor Saturday after a 15-year-old girl allegedly fell unconscious in her home during a party, Fairfax County police said.
After receiving a report of an alcohol overdose at a teen party, Fairfax County police officers arrived 11 p.m. on Saturday in the 10000 block of Akhtamar Drive, police said.
Police said approximately 50 teens were there. The party had no guest list and had allegedly been advertised on social media, they said.
The woman charged, Arianna Legovini, said in an interview that she threw the party for her 15-year-old son and provided snacks, juice and water. She said the party was going well until 20 to 30 “trespassers” arrived with alcohol. Legovini said she stopped the party and called 911 when she found the girl, who she didn’t know, on the couch.
“The proper action of the police is to investigate who was actually there, rather than going after homeowners,” Legovini said. “You should not charge parents when people who are not invited break into your house.”
The 15-year-old was taken to the hospital. Her parents later picked her up, and she is healthy, according to Fairfax police.
