Incident at Farragut West station disrupts Metro service

Metrorail service was disrupted early Saturday through a part of downtown Washington following an incident at the Farragut West station.

An electronic message posted in another station said the trains on the Blue and Orange lines were single tracking between McPherson Square and Foggy Bottom because of “a police investigation.”

A station manager at another station on the line said authorities were trying to determine whether someone had been hit by a train. A large number of police and other emergency vehicles went to the scene early Saturday. Further details of the incident were not immediately available.

Metro tweeted shortly after 3 a.m. that service had returned to normal between McPherson Square and Foggy Bottom.
