Man killed in Loudoun crash

A man driving a pickup truck was killed in a crash in the Round Hill area Saturday, Virginia State Police said.

The pickup was traveling along Route 7 near Yellow Schoolhouse Road around midnight when it ran off the road and into a ditch. The vehicle overturned, and the driver, who was not wearing his seat belt, was partially ejected. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Officers responded at 12:18 a.m., police said. Authorities are withholding the man’s identity, pending notification of next of kin. Police said speed was a factor in the crash.

No one else was in the car at the time of the wreck.
