Man shot in Alexandria Sunday night near Braddock Road Metro station

A man was shot and wounded Sunday night near a Metro station in Alexandria, authorities said.

The victim was hit in the torso and taken to a hospital, where he was listed in stable condition, the Alexandria police said. The shooting occurred about 6:30 p.m. near N. Payne and Wythe Streets, the Alexandria police said.
