Man turns himself in the day after killing girlfriend, Prince George’s police say

A Southeast Washington man turned himself in to police on Monday and was charged with murder in the shooting death of a Suitland woman.

Prince George’s County police responded to a report of a shooting on the 3200 block of Sycamore Lane in Suitland on Sunday night and found Tamu Bynum, 43, dead of gunshot wounds in her home.

The next day, Devin James Wooten, 43, turned himself in at police headquarters. He was charged with second-degree murder.

Prince George’s police said that Bynum and Wooten were in a romantic relationship and that he shot her after an argument on Sunday.
